Oak Forest, IL

In January 2015, we acquired a vacant industrial building to convert to self-storage with the adjacent 2 acres of land at 4325 Frontage Rd in Oak Forest, a suburb of Chicago. The building is located along I-57 with visibility to over 110,000 vehicles per day and close proximity to Walmart, McDonald’s and other major retailers and restaurants plus dense residential neighborhoods.

Initially, we delivered approximately 62,400 net rentable square feet of self-storage, plus 8 rentable offices, 67 rental parking spaces and bulk storage space. We also engaged CubeSmart to brand and manage the facility.

Based on the success of Phase 1, we refinanced and increased our senior bank loan for the Phase 2 expansion. In March 2018, we added approximately 22,300 net rentable square feet of self-storage.
In 2021, we successfully sold the Oak Forest facility.
